Mutual Aid & Community in the Face of Climate Disaster
Helping our friends & colleagues in the Gulf Coast...
Hey there Green New Dealmakers,
Our hearts are with all of those in Louisiana, Mississippi, and across the country dealing with the fallout of climate disasters right now. We’re passing along a list of organizations doing mutual aid and local disaster relief efforts on the ground in response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Ida’s landfall in the Gulf.
Our friends, colleagues, and fellow activists and their communities have a long road to recovery ahead of them along the Gulf Coast, but our movement can and will be there to support them—in whatever way they need. For now, and for awhile, that’s going to be by donating resources (money and mutual aid) to those who are on the ground.
A good place to start is the community of St. James, in the heart of Cancer Alley…

Another place that our friends and fellow activists on the ground consistently recommended we support was the mutual aid efforts of the local group, Imagine Water Works…
